We looked for a new target in a new media: white-hack hackers, geeks & teckies who would enter the source code of our current app in facebook. We hid a special promotion only for them in the source code. We did not aim for a high response rate but for quality engagement. The nature of the idea was to be a easter egg only for a few curious go-getters.
Outcome
As the promotion is still activated until 12th May, there are no final results yet. The goal was not to reach a large number of people but a very specific target: white-hat hackers, geeks & techies. In terms of awareness, by the moment, it has generated buzz in geek forums and comments (most of them favourable) where left in our facebook profile. We started to build long-term relationships with participants officially recognising them as go-getters and giving them product for a year.
