Description
If you are driving in a strange neighborhood or new city and don’t have a GPS, chances are you will need to ask people for directions. But sometimes directions may leave you even more lost and confused.
Execution
In Turkey, owning a GPS is becoming a growing necessity especially because of the construction boom happening in the country. Every few months there are new streets, neighborhoods and buildings. Old street names are being changed and old landmarks removed. So, we created typographic posters that looked like the layout of a city. We then placed confusing, absurd and funny examples of directions on the layout, resembling rooftops of buildings.
These posters show how words can be confusing when one asks for an address…
Outcome
Sales of the Garmin GPS were particularly strong in Istanbul and in Ankara -- the two cities changing the most. This campaign helped Garmin retain its position as the top selling GPS in Turkey.
