A normal father, who lives in a little town of China, wants to buy a car so that he could get her daughter to school everyday, then she won't take the crowded bus anymore. As a not-that-rich person, the only way he could raise enough money for it is working hard and overtime. To make the car he wants affordable, he has to be busier, which makes the short-spoken father speak less than before and builds the wall between them higher. Meanwhile, the daughter thinks that it will be nice if her father could accompany her on the bus.

The film has a time span, so we need to show three life stages of this father with the assists of clothing, art design and stage set. The character will be made representative in China, so the spectators could associate with their own father. To achieve all this, the actor need to have both appropriate appearance and great performance. After many setbacks, the selection has been made.
