OVERVIEW

Description

What is the best way to draw attention in a DIY store to the fact that a paint is particularly suitable for painting children’s bedrooms and toys? Expensive displays? Ugly eye-catchers? Alpina relied on a more attractive idea: a new packaging concept that speaks for itself.

Execution

The packaging was to be just as high-quality and child-friendly as the product. For this, the paint bucket was first painted in its own colour tone, and then eyes were applied, which are graphically derived from the Alpina logo. The special trick: together with the handles of the paint bucket, this created a happy face that smiles at children and parents from the shelf of the DIY store.

The Alpina logo was embossed on the lid in high quality. And so that nothing would spoil the happy faces on the tins, all of the detailed information was accommodated in a round flyer on the bottom of the tins. The Happy Colours are available in four tones and three different sizes.

Outcome

The sale of Happy Colours took place through DIY stores. The new packaging already showed its effectiveness at an early stage. Already during the first month after the relaunch, sales grew by 12%. And all of this without costly advertising promotions. Excellent proof that not only the quality of the product is crucial - but also the quality of its packaging.
