Description

Herbal Essences' "Singing in the Shower" campaign was designed to convey the idea that the experience of using Herbal Essences is so uniquely pleasurable, you can't help but sing about it. The campaign features original music, written and composed to reflect Herbal Essences' naughty but nice brand character, and to re-ignite a sense of curiosity, renewed interest and enthusiasm for the brand amongst its teen target audience. Capturing beautiful hair with the executional interest and magic of a music video speaks to the brand's teen target.

Execution

The WB's "What I like about you" television programme created an episode completely centered around Herbal Essences. The storyline featured the two main characters competing with Jadyn Maria, the real life Herbal Essences spokeswoman, for a $1,000, and the chance to be the next Herbal spokesperson (including continual branding opportunities). The Herbal Essences' "Singing in the Shower" campaign launched with a fully integrated bang. The 15-second commercial ran within the episode and the actual :30 commercial launched immediately following the programme. Herbal Essences, iTunes and Wal-Mart music collaborated to provide free downloads of Jadyn's song at herbalessences.com.
