AVL applied its competence in acoustics when constucting the Concert Hall. The acoustic excellence of the Hall was worked out and defined in workshops with AVL scientists and internationally renowned artists such as Nicholas Harnoncourt. Usage is assured for the next ten years by contractual agreement and cooperation with the avant-garde festival steirischer herbst. 40 productions took place in 2003, including “Begehren”, voted the world’s best permiere of the year; Lost Highway by Olga Neuwirth; Icons of the 20th Century with Valery Gergiev; Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra play Avant-garde.
Outcome
Turnover for 2003 of €450m increased by 12% against 2002. Average industry growth: 5%.The Helmut-List-Halle and AVL List’s involvement were discussed in over 1200 media reports including the New York Times, Die Welt, Frankfurter Allgemeine, Neue Züricher, etc. An independent survey of spontaneous brand awareness within AVL List’s target market resulted in an increase in brand awareness of 17% to an level of 80%.
