Execution

Due to the global nature of the film, the Director and DP placed a heavy emphasis on the storytelling being told through non-verbal communication—the way a scene is framed, subtle looks between the family, and the feelings conveyed by the lighting and set design. The intent was to tell the story in a way that felt voyeuristic and raw, conveying a feeling reminiscent of the holiday, without relying too much on the typical visual cues.
