Ubisoft, the French video game company, wanted to launch the Far Cry 5 action-adventure first-person video game in Poland. The game, published for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, is the standalone successor to the 2014 video game Far Cry 4, and the fifth main installment in the Far Cry game series.The game takes place in Hope County, a fictional region of Montana, United States. The main story revolves around the Project at Eden's Gate, a doomsday cult that rules the land under the guise of its charismatic leader, Joseph Seed. Players control an unnamed junior deputy sheriff who becomes trapped in Hope County, and must work alongside factions of a resistance to liberate the county from the despotic rule of the Seeds and Eden's Gate. Additionally Joseph Seed and his gang The Eden's Gate (a religious sect) has its own radio station that spreads propaganda throughout the the game's world.

To celebrate the launch of Far Cry 5, we created a fictional radio station named HOPE COUNTY FM. The idea was based on insights around the fact that The Eden's Gate (a religious sect from the game) has its own radio station that spreads propaganda throughout the game’s fictional world. We used content from this radio station to create a similar channel on the popular music streaming platform Spotify and broadcasted the Far Cry 5 soundtrack, playlists with American music, and even real conversations (podcasts) with the game’s main characters: Joseph Seed (the leader of the religious cult) as well as members of the resistance movement and YouTubers who took part in the Montana Trip during the games’ pre-launch period. We directed radio listeners to clues that would be a key to bigger mystery and an attractive prizes. We also created a website of radio station Hope County FM.
