Execution

Headline: Hong Kong has $650 billion of fiscal reserve.

Copy: Elderly citizens, new migrants, low-income individuals – these people are among the 100,000 residents living in cubicle apartments. Due to their low economic status, they are unable to afford normal-sized apartments. In order rent this tiny space they must save money, forcing them to give up some of their most basic daily needs. While our city seems prosperous, many people live in unacceptable conditions. Please scan the QR code and send your petition to the government. Find out more at www.soco.org.hk and make a change.

Outcome

The emails and posters went viral, increasing online awareness and concern, gaining the attention of local and even global media.

SoCO’s exhibition also received noteworthy results. Over 10,000 people went to the exhibition in one week. And a total of over 10,000 participants sent QR petitions.

With SoCO, we were able to convince the HK Chief Executive and the government to improve the living conditions of these impoverished residents.
