Background
The Boys is without a doubt the goriest show in the Prime Video catalogue.
In each episode, there’s blood, blown-up bodies, more blood and more blown-up bodies.
And the fans love it of course. So, to launch the 3rd season, Prime Video gave 50 fans & influencers the opportunity to live an extremely unusual immersive experience.
Idea
The Human Puzzle! For about 2 hours, locked inside a basement in Paris, fans & influencers found themselves face to face with a corpse that had been blown up into 32 bits and scattered round the site. The objective was to put it back together in record time! It was gory. Really gory.
Strategy
The Experience took place over 2 days in Paris and was dedicated only to fans (who won their tickets on social networks) and influencers. 2 main French influencers (Snaptrox & Raska - 1M followers on YouTube) also released a dedicated a 11-minute video of their Human Puzzle experience.
Execution
The corpse was created in partnership with Accurate Dream, a studio specializing in special effects. Each body part was reproduced impeccably (texture, weight, size, etc) so that it fitted together perfectly. It was suitably disgusting, making the participants share their experience on Instagram.
When the puzzle was back together, they realized a piece was missing (the left hand) and they worked with the experts to reconstruct it on-site, turning the goriest experience of the moment into an entertaining and interactive experiment. It allowed fans to find out more about what goes on behind the scenes in special effects production.
Outcome
The initiative received widespread media coverage in France with more than 100 different articles and was viewed millions of times on social media, particularly thanks to the dozen influencers who took part in the experience and the video released by Snaptrox & Raska.
