Huge posters and small posters were displayed on different walls in 31 cities of France for this urban guerilla campaign.
The posters represent a face of which the mouth had been cut out, letting appear the wall texture (brick, stone, ...) on which it has been placed. The mouth is walled up by the used medium: the wall. One can read on the poster: “Do not let anyone deprive human rights’ defenders of their freedom of speech”.
Outcome
This mobile and re-usable campaign touched a large public in the entire country. The petitions were signed in a couple of hours and the Amnesty website registered a large number of visitors. At a low cost, Amnesty was able to reinforce the acknowledgment of right defenders and inform on the importance of their role.
