Description
THINK was designed to be an immersive, experiential exhibit combining real-time data collection and visualization, film, and large-scale touch-panel interactive modules. Inspired by IBM’s Saarinen and Eames-designed 1964 World’s Fair Pavilion, the NYC exhibit aimed to change the conversation around technology, focusing on the new frontier of making the world work better through innovation. The cornerstone of the exhibit was the THINK FILM that decoded patterns of human progress, and showed how technology has adapted through the centuries to improve the world around us.The film crew traveled the globe capturing over 100 hours of footage and designed a one-of-a-kind 3-camera rig that captured footage from multiple perspectives, at true scale. This “wraparound” coverage played out on twenty 7-foot-high, dual-sided HD screens and viewers were immersed in a 360-degree kaleidoscope of image and sound. The film illuminated some of the most pressing challenges of our day in a way that engaged diverse audiences. THINK drew more than 25,000 visitors at Lincoln Center in it’s short run and reached almost 2 million people online. Diverse audiences—from scientists and heads of state to school kids and everyday citizens—were empowered to join in a larger conversation about where technology is heading. The entry includes a making-of video, please check.
