Description
As last year's GetxoPhoto theme was "Journey of those who don't choose to travel" we came out with the idea ‘Illegal dreamer.’ A low-almost-no budget campaign
on instagram that followed a senegalese inmigrant, Abdou Diouf in his journey from Senegal to Europe in search for a better life.
Execution
The execution consists in telling Abdou's journey, as real as it can be, in a time-line of 15 days in Insntagram. Telling the story with the normal hashtags people use.
Outcome
After some media —like UK’s The Huffington Post, Mirror; Swedish Svenska Dagbladet; Italians Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, Vanity Fair; Spaniards Cadena Ser, Cuatro, La Vanguardia; Portuguesse TVi 24; Mexicans El Universal and Excelsior; Peruvian El Popular among many others around the world— reported about Abdou’s trip as if it was real, the campaign went globally viral, giving tremendous attention to GetxoPhoto
15.000 followers, thousand of comments, more than 20.000 likes and more than a milllion euros repercussion in media.
