OVERVIEW

Description

This virtual reality animation takes the viewer inside the body to highlight the importance of iron maintenance, and shows the impact of iron build-up in at-risk patients. The flow of powerful visuals aims to educate on the cellular and molecular influence of iron in normal and disease settings, whilst also introducing the viewer to treatments that can restore iron balance. As an unbranded and purely educational animation, Novartis are now able to offer a fully immersive and fascinating insight into iron balance disorders.

Execution

The 3D assets were created in 3D Studio Max and rendered with V-Ray. It was composited and graded in Fusion and then edited together in Adobe Premiere. The key messages we needed to get across were the healthy role of iron in the body, versus the problems when the body is unable to filter it out efficiently and becomes iron overloaded. By using virtual reality we were able to make this more of a journey through the body, and put the viewer right in the middle of it all. We believe this not only made it easier to understand, but also a much more immersive and interactive experience. As always we tried to make the film as visually stunning as possible, however due to the technical demands of virtual reality we had to keep the render times relatively low, while also trying to keep up the standard of the visuals.
