OVERVIEW

Description

Students of acting prepare to the theatre festival in a very unusual way. .... they were getting ready to the theatre spotlights under any lights that resemble them.Istropolitana Project is one of the leading theatre festivals in the Central European area.The objective of the festival is to provide a creative encounter of diverse concepts of theatre and performing arts, presented by the youngest generation of theatre makers. An important aspect is the communicative nature of the performances.

Execution

Students of acting prepare for the theatre festival in a very unusual way; in the rays of spotlights.As we want people to discuss the festival and the city to truly experience it, we decided to go right into the centre of the city– amidst people.The young actors showed a great deal of courage especially when acting hung from a billboard in the centre of the city, close to the most crowded bars. Not only did this billboard become the first living one in Slovakia, but it probably became one of the most non-traditional theatrical stages.

Outcome

The attendance increased by 20% in comparison to the previous year.A number of performances were sold out, and the public interest was so huge that only those that preordered the tickets had the chance to attend the shows.
