Description

The idea was to recreate the experience of winning at Cannes. What creative doesn’t dream of hearing their name called out by the legendary Juan Senor, official presenter at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity?

We convinced Juan Senor to participate in a local promotional campaign, something he has never done before. He recorded over 350 combinations of Quebec agency names that we then uploaded onto a web-based widget. The campaign Juan Senor – Presents speaks directly to every creative's desire to win at Cannes by giving them a little taste of that holy grail of advertising experiences.

Execution

The C’est dans le Cannes contest runs from November 2017 to May 2018.

Over two weeks in December 2017, we created a widget with over 350 different “winning” combinations of agency names in the radio category. All combinations were recorded by Juan Señor, the official presenter of the Cannes International Festival of Creativity. A week before the Christmas holidays, Creative Directors at 34 Quebec-based agencies and 10 recording studios received an email with a link to the online widget. In total, we sent out close to 400 targeted emails.

Outcome

We had a 100% open rate with our target market, which is exceptional especially considering we were talking to veteran industry insiders.

Our objective was to raise awareness of the contest among francophone Creative directors and creatives. We thus had a 100% success rate among Creative Directors, our primary target. We also received a lot of positive feedback on the concept and congratulations on securing Juan Senor’s participation.
