Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) is a thriving industry in the Philippines. Call centers are commonplace and many young people work as call center agents. They work even on late nights and holidays, missing even the most important occasions. The TV spot features a KFC call center agent who chances upon his mother’s call on Christmas eve. She orders food for him and asks that it be sent to his office. While emotional, he still sticks to protocol and never strays from his spiel. He instead shows his gratitude through a heartfelt “thank you for calling KFC”.
