Description
A simple, yet strong, message about how we can affect our perception of world by our choice of words. Our hero, Jack, passes through his old childhood neighbourhood as he reflects upon the changes that have happened over the years, whilst observing the people he passes.
His words are harsh, racist and prejudice and cut through politeness and politically correctness in a way that feels hateful and spiteful beyond belief. None-the-less no harsher than what we see on a daily basis in media or social media the like.
Using labels like "faggots", "apes", "muslims", immigrants", and "bums" he loads his monologue with vindictiveness and fear. Until suddenly the film stops. We rewind and revisit the scenes again - now free of labels. Nothing else changes.
The monologue is the same. The images the same. Only the labels have been replaced with words like "boys", "families" and "helpless".
So the story.
