Description

To denounce this disastrous situation of press freedom in Turkey, Reporters Without Borders launched a campaign directly in front of the Turkish embassy in Berlin. They dropped off specially prepared packages with current daily newspapers on the embassy’s doorstep. The cover pages featured portraits of incarcerated journalists. To emphasize the fact that the journalists are behind bars, the newspapers were wrapped up with additional packing tape. The message: “Free press. Free people.”

Execution

Outcome

As a result of this campaign, we not only sent a message to embassy members and their security staff, but also received coverage in daily newspapers and magazines – while simultaneously generating Reporters Without Borders’ most successful social media post ever.
