Zero 3D animation / modelling has been used in this film. Every single shot of the birth inside the womb is made with practical effects and robotics alone. All scenes inside the womb are created in tanks filled with liquid and the silicone + robotics-baby inside. The baby, once it is born is robotics and animatronics – no 3D.

Sparks, smoke and texture have not been added in post production either.

In terms of Art Direction, it was crucial to get as close to the feeling of a real birth as possible. Not just in terms look and anatomy, but also the stress and chaos that happens when Doctors Without Borders help a child to this world.
