OVERVIEW

Background

Risqué is a nail polish brand from the Coty company in Brazil. It’s the leading brand in sales for nail polish in the country and renowned for launching innovative collections. In the past two years, it was not only the collections that were anticipated by the public but also their respective campaigns which have been impacting, engaging and generating more awareness due to the visual language used, the content and usage of social networks. This is why, for the launch of the Colorful collection, it was necessary to surprise once more, surpassing the previous campaigns and bringing that “novelty” that the public always looks forward to. Since this is a more basic collection, without the power of a franchise as seen in the previous campaigns (such as the Wonder Woman Collection, for example) the search for an artist with an expressive name to co-create the campaign was vital.

Execution

The campaign’s photography brings an eccentric style which deconstructs stereotypes through irreverence. Each one of the scenes created for the campaign interprets one of the colors from the line of nail polishes, in everyday scenes such as exercising, swimming, hair drying, but it is always deconstructed by unusual elements which make the situation exotic and curious. Each element in the scene was also designed, chosen or directed (in the case of the model) to bring about an aura of “eccentric fashion”. Each photo shows the main color of the scene, referring to the depicted nail polish color, but it is contrasted by complementary colors within the collection itself, creating a vibrant and unique visual language.
