In Holland almost every internet site has a poll on which people can vote. No matter how trivial the poll may be, the Dutch vote in massive numbers. But the Dutch hardly vote when it comes to local elections. Time to confront them with their own voting behavior!
To do so we created a new medium: ‘Poll-vertising’.We placed ‘fake’ polls on real internet sites. When people voted on a poll, a pop-up appeared “So you like to vote? Then vote on 7 March during the local elections.” If people clicked the link, they were linked to the local elections site.
