Execution

Inspired by the campaign tagline “Every Car Should Be a Sports Car”, we created an augmented valet experience at a Beverly Hills mall. As cars entered the shopping center, a life-size 3D rendering of a Porsche Macan appeared on a smart screen outside the driver’s window, ‘magically mirroring’ the car’s every move as it approached. The ‘magic mirror’ gave the illusion that each car pulling up to the valet, regardless of make, year or size, was a Porsche Macan. Once the driver left the valet there was a Macan, with sticker price, to show how obtainable a Porsche is.

Outcome

In 10 days, we surprised over 900 Beverly Hills shoppers as they seemingly drove up in a Porsche Macan. The average cost of the car that drove through the Magic Mirror experience was $54,000, nearly equal to the price of the Porsche Macan and 62.3% of the cars transformed were direct competitors of the Macan. The Magic Mirror video received over a million views and was picked up by international car and technology press. Porsche sold out their first run of the Macan and saw increased engagement from the young professionals they aimed to reach with this new vehicle.
