The editor worked tirelessly to maintain authenticity while culling through hours of material coming from HD, VHS, DV Cam, & Phantom cameras. The editor used a mix of this recreated footage, visual effects, graphics, and existing footage coupled with an intricate musical bed to cut this editorial tribute.
The editor’s close collaboration with the director and the creative team meant that they could explore exactly how to make the viewer feel that they were part of Ashley’s intellectual journey while the complex edit ensured that the spot maintained a 1990’s collage mixtape look and feel.
One of the editor’s agency collaborators said, “It was certainly a complicated project to edit, and it’s testament to the editor and director collaboratively working together that the campaign was brought to life. (Editor) was also instrumental with the different musical pieces and soundscape, as he laid it’s blueprint with the director.”
