A mailing campaign needed to remind a selected group of recipients, in this case micro-contributors, just how big a difference small contributions can make. The cards acted both to show appreciation of contributions and as an incentive to renew their contribution subscriptions.
Execution
Even a coin can make a big difference – that’s precisely what the cards sent out in the mailing had to convey. The silver fields on the cards could be scratched open to reveal what a single coin can fund: food, electricity, medicine or just toys. A very simple and direct idea.It had to be just as easy for recipients to renew their donation subscriptions or to increase the amount. The www.powerofacoin.com website was specially set up to let donors set up a subscription in just a few clicks.
Outcome
None of the recipients cancelled their donation payments; all subscriptions were renewed!As all of the suppliers involved provided their services gratis, Misereor only had to pay the postage and packing. The mailing wasn’t only very effective, but incredibly efficient as well.
