OVERVIEW

Description

Make "MOBILE Suica" known to the university student.

It is a project executed through examining the promotion project contest for the university student "Jeki promotion idea competition".

Execution

Mobile Suica offers Japanese cash debit facilities incorporated into mobile phones, (using a non-contact ID chip), thus eliminating the need for cards. A mobile-phone in which private information including the address data, E-mail, photograph, etc. is uploaded, in a kind of identity card mobile phone. One can also set a personally-chosen ring tone to make the ‘ping’ when the mobile is scanned to open the ticket barriers at the train station, using the pre-loaded travel card.

Outcome

It was a one day demonstration event using the mock-up Otonori. Whether to place this as actual service is not yet decided. 346 people experienced Otonori in just 4 hours. Many people commented that they wanted to make their own sound.12 people purchased then and there (at Shibuya in 4 hours). 981 people saw the MOBILE Suica brand site via the Otonori mobile site in 2 weeks. (Those who experienced, event witnesses and via publicity).
