Description

MORE LIGHT is a commercial specifically designed for CREDIS, Sony’s new display system that combines ultrafine LEDs and unique surface mounting to deliver a visual experience beyond any conventional LED array. Our mission is to provide a new way of experiencing High dynamic range (HDR) and explore HDR as a new type of sensitivity in detecting light, not just as a new technology. That is why we quoted Goethe concerning the nature of light. To capture and express light beyond the capability of any existing format is our mission and we felt that Goethe’s quote is perfect to begin our piece.

Execution

“Do Open the Shutter So that More Light May Enter” – Goethe

We look into a lens in order to discover what it’s capturing. Various images of our mother nature ensue inviting the viewers to a whole new way of experiencing digital image. Mysterious voice sings in the soundtrack. “More light we’ll light. More light we’ll see. More life we’ll live. More song we’ll sing. More love we’ll give. That’s we’re longing for. More night we’ll pass, you and I. More light we’ll light, you and I.” Then, a camera looks directly into the sun as we see a hand cast against it.
