This commercial sets out to present John Lewis (the UK’s favourite department store) as a retailer that has always been at the forefront of selling the very latest home technology products. The creative is built upon a fresh insight about man and his machines – old technology elicits powerful memories of growing up. Together with a mix of favourite music tracks from across the decades this commercial is designed to take the viewer on a trip through some of the more iconic home electrical products they have enjoyed over the years right up to the very latest TV set of today.
