Description
The middle of nowhere. The dark of night. A woman on the run from something in her past finds much-needed respite in a roadside diner, but she still lacks a clear path forward. Until, that is, she comes across a faucet from the Kohler Composed collection enshrined in the restaurant’s restroom. Inspired by the faucet’s sleek intention and minimalist design, she completely transforms her entire look by removing her makeup and cutting her hair. Making her exit, she finds that her past has caught up with her: the diner is flooded with police on the hunt. But thanks to the cue she took from the Composed, her newest disguise fools her pursuers and she confidently slinks off into the night with a smile. And what’s that glinting in her handbag? Nothing to see here, officer…
Execution
Unsurprisingly, modern diners built on the edge of nowhere simply don’t exist. So the challenge was to build an environment to match the sophisticated aesthetic of the Kohler Composed collection. We created a surreal and visually striking world for our heroine quite literally from the ground up with some help from an empty church parking lot, the bare bones of an old Los Angeles diner and the magic of visual effects.
