Description

Acik Radio has a newscast weekdays every morning between 8 and 10. We listened to news, noted down highlights and turned them into lyrics before noon time. Everyday we worked with different composers and musicians. The songs were composed to the lyrics until the afternoon. Then they were performed. And they were aired on the station before that specific day was over, in the evening. Several different musicians were used, each from different circles to make sure that the project would spread amongst their followers as much as possible. Within one month, a total of 14 songs were produced in the same fashion.

Execution

The news talk in the morning was turned into lyrics and was then composed into a song. It was aired on the same day before it was over as 'Newssong' on the radio station. Every day, a new song was created for that specific day. Many different styles were used, different composers, celebrities, several amateur and professional musicians were involved in such a creative challenge, willingly. It became a matter of curiosity for the followers wondering what Acik Radio will achieve each day.

Outcome

Acik have just 128k followers on social media. At the end of the campaign they reached 2 million people in collaboration with famous pop stars, actors, rock bands etc. The project also has great PR in Turkey.
