Description
Every stunt ad is meant to be noticed. But not the electric Nissan Leaf's.
To prove that it is both silent and exciting, we went to one of the quietest villages in France and organized a wild ride at night.
Don't wake anybody up.
Execution
The execution was all about bringing drivers’ stories to life, without reverting to the traditional owner testimonial format. From a series of interviews we uncovered the surprising, personal and, most importantly, true stories from six LEAF drivers across Europe. We then turned these stories into animated films. Every element from each story was illustrated, then brought together into fluid, colourful animations via a series of ingenious and surprising transitions. The voiceovers were provided by the actual drivers to give a real sense of authenticity, while bright, upbeat music and sound design completed the optimistic, vibrant ambience of the films.
Outcome
Animated by LEAF provided the ideal support for the wider brand platform on electric driving, each film being released to celebrate milestones in the ‘Race to a Billion Kilometres’ – the wider brand platform for electric vehicles. As an original content series, Animated by LEAF nourished Nissan’s social platforms over a long period, reaching a wide audience from a minimal media spend.
