OVERVIEW

Description

We were looking for a fresh and relevant way to connect, and became infatuated by the growing movement of spoken word poetry. The performers are not afraid to break norms, just what we needed. We started researching the spoken word scene around Stockholm and discovered that a majority of the artists were under the age of 25. This fitted perfectly with our vision. We decided to produce the whole project with young talents, headed by the up and coming director Malin Ingrid Johansson. She managed to excite everyone and got the production crew to work pro-bono. We casted the young poet Lovisa Wessberg as the messenger and additional young talents from all over the country to back her up. We decided to set the scene at the local grill, the national symbol of Sweden as every town, no matter how small or large, has one.

Execution

Once the concept was locked, we approached production house and director Malin who were all equally excited about the project and joined pro-bono. We all spent many weeks finding young and talented crew, casting the right teenagers and scouting for the perfect location to shoot. Three entities worked together on the creation of this film, the agency who developed the concept and lead the logistics and creative direction of the project, the production house and UNDP who commissioned the work. The production took place between November 17 and February 18 with only one day of shooting and a week in post-production, including grading and scoring. The majority of the production time went to perfecting the script and finding the right tonality and cast.

Outcome

The goal of this project is to engage teens and young adults in the Global Goals, and to tell them that their voice counts and that they should raise it for what they believe in. We wanted to inspire to action and guide them to engage themselves in what they believe is right.

The film will premiere at the UNDP spring gala in Stockholm. It is being released online on the 18th of April. The aim is to generate traffic to UNDPs campaign page where you can explore the goals and find ways to take action. We are eager to measure the traffic and activity after the film’s release.
