Description

As people around the globe searched for their ideal vacation online we’ve decided to disrupt their search (which is often done during office hours) with an unique proposition: send us your funniest, most creative Out Of Office reply and we’ll send you sailing in Croatia!

OUT OF OFFICE AWARD is an online campaign that invites people to send us their most creative Out Of Office reply messages and win an exclusive sailing adventure along the Croatian coast. Also, the winner receives an actual “Out Of Office Award” statue, a small reminder to a great vacation.

Execution

The Out Of Office Award website was the central point for all the office ninjas that contemplated sailing down the Adriatic coast, where they could send their OOO messages and find inspiration. The website was also linked to the official Croatia FB page, easing the application process. Facebook and display ads, along with GDN, promoted the competition on various websites around the world, followed by posts from popular travel influencers in all of the strategic markets.

We’ve received applications from 49 countries and the story about the award was picked up by the online media, with almost 300 articles following the campaign. With nearly 16 million impressions, the Out Of Office Award created a lot of online buzz, with an estimated 5.000.000 € of free media coverage. In the end, Croatia had a record breaking tourist season in 2016, as millions of escape-to-holiday artists flocked to the country.
