Description

Padma is in a state of frozen shock, and surrounded by her helpless and worried family. The reason for her shock is apparent - she is holding up a lock of white hair with an absolutely appalled look on her face. The family doctor in his infinite wisdom suggests that the only way to “unshock” Padma is to tell her something that would deliver an even bigger shock than the discovery of her first white hair. What follows is a hilarious segment involving the revealing of increasingly scandalous secrets by everyone present. But Padma remains frozen. Suddenly the grandpa of the family looks up from his newspaper and announces that Neha Herbal Color Crème is now being sold for Rs 15. Upon hearing this, Padma jumps out of her stupor, exclaiming in joy. The VO closes on the note that the unbelievable offer is indeed true.

Execution

We wanted joke to reveal gradually so we kept the narrative and the casting absolutely serious and intense so that the emotion is very real but the content is hillarious! The staging of the scenes had nothing funny about it, nor did the actors performance. We just let them perform seriously and narrate absolutely funny dialogues in an extremely sinscere fashion. The situation is funny, not the actors. This I think is the USP of the film .

To make the surprise more effective we also placed the film in a a typical lower middle class, consertive Indian hosehold so that the dialogues seem even funnier, because you dont expect typical Indian women and kids to be revealing such scandalous secrets.

We had 20 days to execute the film from pre-production to dlivery.

Due to budget constraints, we shot in a day.

Outcome

The film worked splendidly well for Neha Herbals. The brand received a tremendous boost in sales and the film left a lasting impression. No other brand in the category has taken a humourous approach to make a point. The film has resulted in creating an immediate brand recall due to its quirky concept and execution. The insight that greying hair is a cause of huge shock to women has proved to be relatable to women across the nation.
