To get chosen by the Christmas cake consumers, we thought about creating a joyful Christmas fever through the Paris Baguette Christmas cake. Koreans love to sing, so we made a cake named, ‘Karaoke Cake’, which brings people together and which people can sing along with. Karaoke Cake plays different versions of carols from a jukebox application. When the QR code on the cake box is scanned by a smartphone, the Christmas Carol will be played and creates a joyful Christmas fever as people sing along with the carol.
Outcome
Karaoke Cake was flooded with a variety of press coverage on all different kinds of media. 70,157 people have used the mobile QR code, leading to 1,444,327 visitors to the Karaoke Cake music-file website. Also Christmas cake sales were boosted by 15% compared to that of last year; Paris Baguette became the No.1 Seller of Christmas cakes and won the ‘Christmas cake battle’. For the consumers, Karaoke Cake made their Christmas day merrier than ever.
