When choosing our filming locations, we wanted each home to reflect the time period in which our moms grew up with grandma. The style includes family rooms with a kitsch feel, pastel colors, lacquered elements, mirrors, taxidermy animals, floral wallpaper, Art Nouveau stairways, Art Deco doors and furniture, and many other elements that were characteristic of the period. These objects helped us shape the characters’ stories, so that they were all memorable and helped us strengthen our storytelling.

This highly detailed aesthetic, as well as the heightened photographic style, color grading and typography used on all supers helped us create an atmosphere that transported the public to the eighties.

In short, the piece manages to create an ambiance that any antiques fan would like to be in.
