Description

Today, in France, 1 out of 10 women is victim of domestic abuse. Because of it 1 woman dies every 2 days and a half. In 2013, 174 persons died of domestic abuse, which represents 28 people more than in 2012.

Breaking this cycle of violence means fighting silence in priority – a silence that keeps victims stuck in a feeling of guilt that they cannot get out of.

Since 20 years the Women Solidarity National Federation (Fédération Nationale Solidarité Femmes , FNSF) is in charge of the 3919, a number women can call to reach « Domestic Abuse Info » (Violence Conjugal Info), a line informing about domestic abuses. In 20 years 350 000 victims have been able to break the cycle of violence thanks to the FNSF listeners.

This film gives the occasion to deliver a deep message and tell women that phone is the only weapon against violence.

Every year, the 3919 line saves lives and allows women to find shelter in many associations dealing with this problem.

Therefore, on the 25th of November, international day for the fight against domestic abuse, this message has been released both online and on national TV channels for free.
