Background
In 2022, WhatsApp launched a global campaign to highlight their privacy features - some old, some new. Focusing on users who are skeptical of WhatsApp’s ability or intent to protect privacy, we aimed to show just how many layers of protection are truly at their fingertips. With our placement in Piccadilly, we wanted to get the world talking about WhatsApp’s commitment to user privacy. Piccadilly Transformed contextualized multiple layers of protection using magical realism, by not just creating stunning 3D visuals, but taking over the architecture behind the OOH placement and merging real and digital, to tell our privacy story. The 3D immersive experience showed each layer of protection through a well-crafted film animation that morphed the building behind the OOH into the narrative and helped our audience on the ground to understand how each function worked, in a visually stunning fashion.
