Description

Mia Gundersen is a nationally recognized actress and singer, that has been a big part of the Norwegian cultural scene for many years. To get endorsements from a regular norwegian with almost the same name, we called a woman named Pia Gundersen, a name that’s strikingly similar to Mia Gundersen.

What really makes this spot, is the humor in the manner that she replies. Throughout the conversation she is very dismissive, both in tone and words, almost to a point that's rude. Still she doesn't hesitate to say exactly what he asks her to say.

"Må’ru så Maarud" is the brand slogan, meaning “If you have to, you Maarud”.

When Maarud, a small Norwegian potato chip producer, relaunched their most popular potato chips, they boldly stated that it was the best chips they had ever made. Now we knew it to be true, but how could we make people across the country believe it too? Maybe the Norwegians would trust us if we used celebrities to endorse the new chips?

There was only one problem: in Norway, we only have a few celebrities to choose from, and their price was way higher than what a small chips company could afford. We found our solution in the phone book instead, and decided to call up regular Norwegians with names that were "almost famous" asking them to endorse the new product.
