This synopsis will have you amazed. No, it was a gross exaggeration. This is a very ordinary description, just like everyone else.
What is not an exaggeration is that tabloid formulations in the hunt for more clicks begin to reach extreme heights. If it’s not described as unbelievable or with a promise that the reader will drop his pants, it stands no chance in the media landscape.
So, when Stockholm Public Transport wanted to launch its new app for buying tickets, we wanted to comment on this phenomenon. The relevance? Actually none. But we thought that by being the first to comment on this phenomenon by advertising in this way, it would be interesting, especially since the app isn’t remarkable at all.
A side effect of someone yanking the phenomenon could possibly be that it soon begins to feel more and more ridiculous for the tabloids to express themselves in this way.
