Background
Samsung's devices, wearables and smartphones are already known for their ultra technology. The brand wanted to reinforce its technological halo over the TV sector too with QLED TV.
Of all the technologies embodied into a Samsung TV, the AI voice assistant is one that has the most impact on people's perception of the brand's innovation. So we needed to use it to demonstrate that a Samsung QLED TV is much more than quality image and amazing design. Samsung QLED TV is all about technology.
Idea
We changed the format of the weather report screen for a QLED TV in the prime time of one of the most important news channels in the country, Band News. Rather than presenting the weather report as usual, now the host just asks the QLED TV.
To communicate a new way to see the weather forecast, we reinvented the most traditional way news channels use to show it. Want to know the weather? Just ask your QLED TV remote control.
Strategy
In Brazil, the weather report on the news has always been the same. That's why Samsung decided to use its technology to do something different. With QLED TV's AI voice assistant, you can ask anything you want, including the weather, just by talking directly to the remote control. So we used it to show how technological Samsung TV is.
Execution
The usual weather forecast screen was changed for a Samsung QLED TV on the BandNews, one of the most important TV news show in the country. The placement happened 64 times between 12.03.2018 to 02.28.2019 reaching more then 69MM people.
