Under the campaign “Commissioned by Radio 3” we commissioned three new pioneering pieces from acclaimed artists: Matthew Herbert composed a piece deconstructing a string quartet, Soweto Kinch brought jazz music to neglected urban spaces, and Alice Oswald wrote the poem ‘Rain’ about the day after the Brexit vote.

Films were made to interpret these commissions and bring them to life – creating 30sec pieces of video art in their own right. These were aired across all BBC channels.
