Description
An integrated campaign for Rainier Beer to maintain momentum generated by last year’s award-winning “Remember Rainier” campaign. The cornerstone was a 22-minute film entitled Operation Liberation: The Movie starring Tim and Chuck as they discover and resurrect the Refreshus Verticus, a two-legged beer bottle creature (an icon from Rainier Beer’s 1970-80’s ads). The remainder of the campaign consisted of an updated website, four posters, four TV spots, and the return of the 10-episode UPN TV show RainierVision from last year.
Execution
The film was premiered publicly, after a multi-pronged publicity effort including local prints ads, flyers, and buzz agents. The film served as an 11th episode of RainierVision, the late-night TV show starring Tim and Chuck, which was rerun. Clips from the film ran locally as TV spots. The website was updated with Refreshus Verticus content. Posters drawn by an internationally-renowned comic book artist explained the evolution of the Refreshus Verticus “species.”
