Description
The solution was based on the insight 'Voice is mightier than print'. Also, research showed that phone was the preferred medium for information and counselling. To ensure comprehensive, consistent information and counselling, a counselling software was conceptualised and created that recorded every single call to a receiving counsellor, generated caller identity codes to protect identity yet ensured continuity in conversation, provided real time information for the counsellor basis the sequence of query by caller which in turn was supported with a local slang/multilingual translator to ensure best comprehension to the caller and counsellor.
Outcome
The number of people counselled dramatically increased 13 times. The solution thereby, increased the overall efficiency of the programme. The individual counsellor's productivity increased 3.75 times. Achieved a savings of over 30% in the cost of counselling. There was a significant increase in repeat counselling. This helped in adding more resources for the counselling initiative and programme.
