Execution

How the promotion developed from concept to implementation. At the arrival gates men and women were waiting with unusual welcome signs. Written on them were names of famous cheapskates, like Dagobert Duck or Ingvar Kamprad (founder of IKEA, legendary economically). Other cheapskates were only famous in a few countries. The welcome signs were used selectively: with flights from Sweden Ingvar Kamprad’s name was used, flights from USA Dagobert Duck, etc.

Outcome

The success of the promotion. With a low budget of $ 5'000, thousands of travellers were reached and made aware of the Airport Outlet, which is located just a few meters away from the arrival gate. Result: the income rose with a plus of 45% during the promotion in August and September.
