Description
Not here, not there. If a child is drowning in the Netherlands, people will stop and do anything to save it. This needs to happen in the Mediterranean Sea as well. So we brought the problem to front door of the Dutch. By placing dummies of drowning children holding up a sign that asked for help in prominent water locations around the Netherlands.
Execution
With a limited budget we had to be smart. So we created special dummies that looked like drowning children. These dummies were fabricated by using jerrycans with two mannequin arms attached to it, holding up signs that said:“help”,”save me” and “don’t let a kid drown”.
With these dummies we kicked off the campaign in Amsterdam. Here we filmed the guerrilla event and the reactions of the public. We then took it a step further and went to The Hague, the hometown of the Dutch cabinet and European court of justice. At the same time we shared a video made of the Amsterdam content on Facebook. Finally we pushed the complete story in the Dutch media landscape and accomplished our goal: making the news.
