Having been distributed on a specially designed website within the ORF.at-network (http://skichallenge.orf.at), the game was promoted through the ORF`s TV-programmes, its regional and nationwide radio stations, as well as through campaigns in print media and below-the-line marketing by the campaign’s partners. By means of a java-applet SKI CHALLENGE ’06 was made convertible for use on ordinary mobile phones. This gadget was widely used on the Austrian market, as proved by a survey.
Outcome
Just weeks after SKI CHALLENGE 06 was published, almost two million people downloaded the game. More than 350.000 racers took part in the online-competition. Thousands of racers organised themselves in clubs and competed in special club-rankings. In a large Viennese shopping mall the SKI CHALLENGE proved his success within Live-eSport-event.
