Background
Igniting Change are a very unique organisation. They are a purposely small, not-for-profit, who act as an advocate for other not-for-profits.
Their goal is to listen and encourage open-mindedness to address many issues in society. They take action by finding the right organisations to work with to make positive change.
Their brief was to create a way for Igniting Change to share their many learnings and observations in a positive way. They wanted to provoke Australians to think about the small actions they could take, resulting in large change.
This would benefit those in Australia who often have no voice: the underprivileged and people experiencing inequality.
The budget: was almost non-existent.
Execution
Five shapes — a triangle, square, cross, circle and star — were used in the design language. We wrote simple observations and questions to accompany them. Not to tell people what is right, or how to act, but to encourage them to think about issues themselves, hopefully from a new perspective.
A book was created entitled ‘Small ways to shape our world’.
Through this book, we encouraged people to think about reshaping the world with small acts of kindness and thoughtfulness. This was viewed as a far more effective path to genuine change, than a typical donation.
