Execution

Running across both digital and interactive sites, the digital 48-sheet displayed a 20 second version of the Big Yellow Space Invaders game playing on a loop.

On the interactive six-sheet version, passers-by were invited to play the game for real. By scanning the code or typing in the URL, players could turn their mobile phones into a controller to shoot everyday household clutter on the poster.

Outcome

Big Yellow Space Invaders got a whole new audience not just watching an advert, but playing one. Hundreds of people from our key target market interacted with the game and thousands more onlookers witnessed it being played. And with a large call to action on display, viewers and players alike knew exactly where to go to get some space in their life. All of this together meant that on the day of launch itself, visits to the Big Yellow website rose by over 200%.
