Background
Specsavers opticians are known for their comedy in film but are very straight forward with their retail offers. In a hugely competitive market, their offers needed to stand out against others. The result is a straight forward retail campaign with added creative copywriting befitting the brand's comedic tonality.
Execution
Due to legal requirements, it’s almost impossible to change copy for retail offers. The challenge was to retain these clearly and creatively add to them, bringing a smile that would make the offer even more enticing.
The asterisk (*) is well known for leading to small legal text below, which usually disappoints. We enlarged the asterisk and filled the beneficial contents of the offer with fun copy. Consumers understood that with Specsavers you get more than the just the offer.
